Sketch of Home Invasion and Assault Suspect Released

One of the most frightening things that can happen to you or someone in your family is returning home from an errand, work or school to find an intruder has broken into your house. Unfortunately, these incidents happen frequently and Atlanta residents should take steps to ensure that their homes are guarded against invasions.

On Tuesday, April 23, a woman returned to her Fayette County, Georgia, home on Paula Drive to find an unknown man had broken in and was waiting inside. She was then sexually assaulted, and the man escaped on foot.

Policed arrived after the woman called 911. They searched the house but found no sign of forced entry, according to Detective Josh Shelton, who spoke with the source.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that police then searched the area around the home for evidence. Based on the victim’s description of her attacker, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation artist created a sketch of the man, who was last seen wearing a hoodie, cap and jogging pants. The victim estimated he was in his 30s.

Police stated that anyone with information about the suspect should contact Detective Gunter at (770) 716-4814.
