Fugitive Burglary Suspect Caught in Morgan County

If you live in a rural area, you may want to consider contacting an Atlanta alarm company to discuss home security system options, as residences in this area are often left unacceptably exposed to home invasion. The increased amount of space in these communities means police officers have to cover more territory with fewer resources. A recent incident took place in such a community outside Atlanta that reinforces the point that you can never have too much protection for your rural home.

The Athens Banner-Herald, a local news publication, old fugitive captured reports that law enforcement officials in Morgan County have captured a man suspected of several crimes committed throughout Morgan and Barrow Counties, including burglary and assault. Kaleb Jordan Moss, a resident of Barrow, was arrested after an extended chase that saw him flee on foot into the woods near Price Mill Road after wrecking a Dodge Dakota pickup truck.

Moss is wanted in connection with two burglaries, including one in which he broke into a home and beat the occupant, leaving him hospitalized in critical condition. Moss, who was armed with two guns stolen in a previous robbery, was being pursued by Barrow County deputies when he abandoned his vehicle. The chase led to an intense manhunt by hundreds of police officers, who relied on assistance from local residents as they surrounded the wooded area where Moss was believed to be hiding. The search ended around noon on July 30.

Moss’ motive for assaulting the man is still unknown.
